Bury Bobcats Volleyball Club, in partnership with Suffolk Sport, Volleyball England’s Go Spike campaign and Sport England’s Sportivate and This Girl Can programmes, will be launching new open volleyball sessions on Friday evenings at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre from Friday the 21st of October.
Go Spike is Volleyball England’s nationwide campaign to get more people playing volleyball. Sportivate is a £56 million “inspired by 2012” programme whilst This Girl Can is a national campaign celebrating active women up and down the country.
The new sessions will complement Bobcats’ current Friday evening sessions for experienced players which will run simultaneously thus creating a true club night with a pathway for players to develop from complete beginners to regional-level.
Everyone, male or female, adult or teen from beginners to high-level players will be welcomed along to the new sessions which will be run in a fun atmosphere with lots of games. Each session will each cost £3 for full-time students and £6 for others. Those coming should let the reception staff at the leisure centre know that they are there for volleyball and aim to meet on the balcony above the sports hall from 8pm so that introductions can be made before we head into the sports hall from 8:15-9:45pm.
Players attending at least five out of the first six sessions will be entered into a draw to win a brand new volleyball.
