As part of Volleyball England's nationwide Go Spike campaign to get more people playing volleyball, GB Beach Volleyball Player Chris Gregory launched volleyball sessions, open to all, at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre in September 2013. The sessions were successful and led to the formation of the Bury Bobcats Volleyball Club. Many of the players from the original sessions in 2013 have gone on to play at regional level and the club will be re-launching these Sunday afternoon recreational sessions in January.
The sessions will be open to everyone, male and female, from complete beginners and those wanting to try the game for the first time, to those who'd like to return to the sport. The sessions will be run in a fun environment, with lots of games. New members will be welcome every week with players encouraged to come as often as they like or whenever they can.
Sessions will run weekly from the 3rd of January from 3-4:30pm in the Sports Hall at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre, Beetons Way, IP33 3TT. The price is £3 per session for those aged under 19 and full-time students and £6 for others. Parking is free at the weekends.
